Job DescriptionWSP is currently seeking experienced MEP Project Inspectors - Aviation across multiple disciplines for our Austin, TX office. This role will support our Construction Management team on ongoing infrastructure improvements se roles are critical to ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with contract documents and applicable codes. Inspectors will be responsible for field verification, documentation, and coordination with contractors and stakeholders throughout the construction lifecycle.

- Conduct field inspections to verify conformance with approved contract documents and applicable codes.
- Review contractor work for compliance with specifications, manufacturer instructions, and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate daily activities with third-party inspectors and project stakeholders, including ABIA Operations, Environmental teams, City inspectors, and AUS personnel.
- Document deficiencies and communicate findings to the Contractor and CDS inspectors in a timely manner.
- Support Construction Managers in verifying installed quantities for Pay Applications.
- Maintain accurate daily inspection reports detailing work reviewed and observations made.
- Participate in change management processes and assist in schedule evaluations.
- Navigate and utilize project documentation including design drawings, specifications, Design Standards Manual, and contract terms.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 9 years of relevant post‑education experience in discipline with prior construction inspection experience.
- Demonstrated aviation‑related construction experience, including work on taxiways, runways, terminals, and underground utilities.
- Essential professional licensure/certification(s).
- Familiarity with discipline‑specific codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IMC, IPC, SMACNA, IBC, IEEE).
- Ability to interpret and coordinate with third‑party inspection reports.
- Strong understanding of contract documents, technical specifications, and design standards.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Analytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non‑technical audience.
- Proficient self‑leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multitasking, and prioritization.
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, and comply with company policies.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
- Highly proficient with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, spreadsheets, and tools.
- Competent critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from inspection and testing results, data collation, load calculations, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.
- Ability to direct others in the field such as subcontractors and junior‑level staff to safely, efficiently, and accurately complete tasks according to specifications.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, Sharepoint, Primavera P6.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project‑specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project‑specific requirements.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a closely related discipline is preferred.
