Sr. Server​/Rack Manufacturing Engineer, Hardware Engineering - Manufacturing

Overview

Amazon Web Services’ Hardware Engineering team is looking for experienced professionals to help build the world’s premier cloud computing platform. We are seeking Manufacturing Engineers capable of operating in a fast-paced, multi-platform international manufacturing and production environment. Our Manufacturing Engineers work closely with ODMs, CMs, internal AWS hardware and software development teams, and upstream component vendors to monitor and improve incoming hardware quality of AWS products in design and in monitoring, reporting and investigating early-life product failures.

This role requires taking on full ownership of the manufacturing launch and resolution of process issues, driving production readiness, understanding root cause of hardware failures, and addressing gaps in supplier manufacturing processes.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. • Lead and oversee quality control processes across Contract Manufacturers (CM), Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), and vendors
• Deliver hands-on technical support during new product introductions and launches
• Evaluate and optimize product designs for quality assurance and manufacturing efficiency of servers and rack systems
• Investigate and resolve customer escalations through comprehensive root cause analysis
• Support global operations through regular domestic and international travel (25-50% of time)

• 5+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of Manufacturing Engineering work experience with server platforms or high-tech hardware
• 5+ years of product development experience

• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
• Experience with project management of technical projects

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
