We are seeking a highly organized, autonomous, and customer-focused Aftersales Engineer to join our dynamic team at XCharge North America. The ideal Aftersales Engineer will be a hands-on technical professional experienced in supporting complex electrical and mechanical systems. This role will focus on field diagnostics, system testing, and accurate documentation of findings to support ongoing product improvements. The Aftersales Engineer will work closely with internal engineering teams, assist in technical training efforts, and maintain a strong commitment to safety and compliance in all aspects of field operations.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key sustaining engineering resource by diagnosing recurring field issues and translating service findings into actionable engineering insights to improve product reliability and performance.
  • Perform advanced electrical and mechanical root-cause analysis on DC fast chargers and subsystems, identifying failure modes, design gaps, and manufacturing or installation sensitivities.
  • Support ongoing product lifecycle management by validating corrective actions, design updates, firmware changes, and component substitutions through testing and field verification.
  • Conduct reliability, regression, and stress testing on mechatronic and high-voltage components (e.g., liquid-cooled systems, power electronics, cable management assemblies) under real-world environmental and operational conditions.
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including failure reports, corrective action recommendations, and engineering change feedback for R&D, hardware, and software teams.
  • Collaborate closely with global engineering, quality, and software teams to prioritize sustaining issues, support defect resolution, and reduce repeat failures in deployed systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends in service data, warranty claims, and field performance metrics to inform design refinements and preventive actions.
  • Assist in validating serviceability, safety, and maintainability aspects of new or updated products prior to broader field deployment.
  • Ensure all diagnostic and testing activities comply with applicable electrical safety standards (OSHA, NFPA 70E) and internal engineering best practices.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex aftersales issues, balancing customer impact with long-term product health and engineering objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Management, or related field required.
  • Certification or training in HV safety (preferred: NFPA 70E, OSHA ) is a plus.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in field operations, sustaining engineering, or customer support management within technical or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with software and hardware debugging and electro mechanical control systems in the electrical equipment, robotics, and EVSE space.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Proficient with CRM or service ticketing tools.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite or Google Collaborative tools is required.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% throughout the United States and Canada

  • Flexible work schedule and work-life balance.
  • Professional development opportunities to enhance sales skills and industry knowledge.

  • Opportunity to work with a dedicated and passionate team in a fast-growing industry.
  • Compensation for this position range is dependent on experience, qualifications, and location.
