AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer II to support the planning, design, and delivery of BRT and LRT projects nationally. The successful candidate will bring a collaborative mindset to support AECOM’s growing Transit‑Rail practice. In this role you will support the Austin, TX, Houston, TX, or New Orleans, LA office.
Job Responsibilities- Support efforts for BRT projects, including roadway design, drainage design, maintenance of traffic, station design, civil/site grading, and transit signal priority systems.
- Support multidisciplinary teams through all project phases—from conceptual design through construction.
- Ensure compliance with FTA guidelines, local agency standards, and applicable codes.
- Coordinate with transit agencies, municipalities, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Mentor entry engineers and foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
- BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Micro Station.
- Experience with transit infrastructure design, including LRT, BRT, and commuter rail.
- Familiarity with transit agencies and regional transportation priorities.
- Experience in engineering project delivery, including design and construction phases.
- Strong understanding of engineering standards, permitting, and regulatory processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Sponsorship for U.S. employment is not available now or in the future.
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $65,000 to $90,000.
