Overview
This is an opportunity to join a robotics company building state-of-the-art robotic systems designed to work alongside humans
, taking on tasks that reduce physical strain, improve safety, and meaningfully impact people’s health and wellbeing.
The technology sits at the intersection of advanced robotics, real-time control software, power electronics, and wireless communication
. These robots are deployed in environments where reliability, precision, and safety are non-negotiable, and where thoughtful engineering directly improves quality of life.
The company is product-driven, deeply technical, and focused on building robotics platforms that move beyond prototypes into real-world, scalable systems
. Engineering decisions are made with long-term impact in mind, and leadership values teams that care equally about performance, safety, and usability.
You will join the team as an Engineering Manager who will lead multi-disciplinary teams working across robot control firmware, power electronic systems and wireless connectivity topics with external cloud platforms used for analytical purposes.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for guiding the technical direction of core robotics systems, supporting your team through complex engineering challenges, and ensuring that what’s built performs reliably in the environments these robots are designed for.
This is a hands-on leadership role with real influence. You’ll shape architecture, review designs, support system bring-up, and help define how the team operates, while keeping a clear focus on delivery, safety, and system performance.
One week you may be reviewing control-loop behavior and firmware architecture; the next, supporting power stage validation, system integration, or field performance analysis.
Your responsibilities- Leading and mentoring a multidisciplinary team of 8-10 embedded engineers
- Driving architecture and design for robotics control firmware, power electronics and communication systems
- Overseeing development from early prototypes through production and deployment
- Partnering with product and leadership on technical planning and execution
- Establishing engineering best practices around reliability, safety, and performance
- Remaining technically engaged whilst enabling teh team to do their best work
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics or related field
- 8+ years of experience in robotics, embedded systems, or control-centric environments
- Proven experience leading engineering teams (typically 8-10 people)
- Strong background in real-time control firmware and embedded systems
- Experience with power electronics (motor drivers, power stages, power management)
- Familiarity with wireless connectivity in embedded or robotic systems
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, system bring-up and debugging
- Comfortable leading teams that span hardware, firmware, and systems integration
