Responsibilities- Lead engineering team, projects and programs in area of responsibility, and ensure that preliminary activities (outcomes, milestones, viability studies, resource planning, among others) are completed to support effective later stages of projects.
- Ensure that all projects and programs are completed in accordance with predetermined requirements, with attention to product/process specifications, costs, resource utilization, and timeliness.
- Ensure that all phases of project, program and/or process development are documented and that information required in other functional areas is reported or transferred as appropriate. Ensure compliance with company policies including engineering/lab notebooks, patents, intellectual property, confidentiality, ISO, safety and others as required.
- Establish departmental budgets and spending; optimize the use of material and financial resources in alignment with AOP to maximize area productivity.
- Assign work to subordinate staff and provide for professional development and coaching.
- Spearhead R&D of new manufacturing technologies and ensure that new processes, designs, and methodologies are incorporated into Applied Materials products/services or disseminated to other areas as needed.
- Utilize common engineering technology and software packages to optimize design development activities and timelines for rapid commercialization.

- The salary offered will be based on location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for bonus and stock awards as applicable.
