Job Description:The Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer is responsible for leading, executing, and validating the commissioning activities of electrical and electromechanical systems within a large-scale photovoltaic project. This role ensures that all installations operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with design specifications, performance requirements, and applicable standards.
The position requires strong technical expertise in testing, energization, troubleshooting, and system start-up, as well as the ability to coordinate with construction, engineering, QA/QC, and client teams to ensure a smooth transition from construction to operational readiness.
key Responsibilities:- Lead and execute commissioning activities for low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems. Perform functional, operational, and performance tests on electrical equipment, PV arrays, inverters, transformers, switch gear, and protection systems.
- Coordinate and supervise energization procedures, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and lockout/tagout requirements.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues during commissioning and propose corrective actions to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Review and validate commissioning procedures, test scripts, and technical documentati
- Verify system readiness by coordinating with construction, QA/QC, and engineering teams. Prepare commissioning reports, punch lists, and final acceptance documentation.
- Interface directly with contractors, subcontractors, and the client to ensure alignment on commissioning progress and technical requirements.
- Support the handover process by ensuring all commissioning records and documentation are complete and compliant
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical commissioning for photovoltaic, renewable energy, or industrial power projects. Proven experience in testing, energization, and start-up of LV, MV, and HV electrical systems.
- Experience working in EPC, multinational, or large-scale infrastructure project environments is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, including protection schemes, grounding, power distribution, and control systems. Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, and other relevant standards.
- Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, schematics, and commissioning procedures.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems, communication protocols, and system integration is an advantage
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving commissioning-related issues. Ability to lead commissioning teams and coordinate with multidisciplinary groups.

- Effective communication and coordination skills for interaction with clients, contractors, and project management teams.
- Ability to work on site in demanding project environments and meet commissioning deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
