Description
The Manufacturing Engineer 1 position will provide production support by updating tooling and routings, assisting with NPI, reviewing current product change notices, driving continuous improvement initiatives, authoring standard work documentation in Teamcenter/SAP, and supporting 3D printing activities. This role works collaboratively with a cross‑functional team that includes Manufacturing Engineers, Project Engineers, and Facility Engineers. The Manufacturing Engineer 1 engages in Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIWs), problem‑solving sessions, and Learning Team projects.
A typical day involves supporting the assembly floor by troubleshooting build issues and refining standard work to ensure safe, consistent processes. Manufacturing Engineers regularly update routings, validate BOMs, and implement engineering changes to keep production accurate and aligned with current designs. They collaborate with Quality and Supply teams to address nonconformances, evaluate part readiness when needed. Continuous improvement work is constant—identifying waste, improving material flow, and optimizing layout or tooling to increase efficiency.
