Overview

Our VDC coordinators play a key role in the spatial coordination of projects by identifying constructability issues early and communicating them to project teams. VDC coordinators run collisions with subcontractor models, organize clash reports, lead coordination meetings, track coordination issues to closure, model gaps in scope, and develop relationships with subcontractors. They help foster a collaborative environment to ensure project success and ongoing growth in the industry.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Lead the Coordination Process on multiple projects
  • Assemble 3D models provided by others for MEPF collision detection
  • Provide scope gap modeling to ensure a complete coordination process
  • Lead a productive and efficient BIM process
  • Support field staff in the application of BIM with construction and layout
  • Maintain working relationships with subcontractors and project teams
  • Be responsible for learning and training VDC processes and standards
  • Read and comprehend construction documents and apply them to VDC processes
  • Incorporate design updates into project models
  • Perform field walks to verify installation conformance with the coordinated models
  • Communicate deficiencies to the project team and VDC management
  • Reality Capture/Laser Scanning and integration of point clouds into models
Education and Training
  • Four-year degree in construction, architecture, or engineering preferred
  • Related field or minimum two years of equivalent experience
  • Construction field experience
  • Experience with healthcare, higher education, and/or laboratory projects with a commercial general contractor preferred
Knowledge,

  • The ability to read drawings and specifications
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work accurately
  • Proficiency with the following software:
  • Autodesk Revit
  • Autodesk Glue
  • Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Bluebeam Extreme
  • Autodesk Recap Pro
  • Microsoft Office
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Equivalent work experience
