The NERC O&P Compliance Lead will lead the administration and oversight of the RWECE NERC O&P compliance program including the development and maintenance of associated program requirements (e.g., policies, processes, procedures, and guidance).
Role Responsibilities- Lead the administration and oversight of the RWECE NERC O&P compliance program including the development and maintenance of associated program requirements (e.g., policies, processes, procedures, and guidance)
- Collect, review, organize, and preserve evidence in coordination with internal departments to support regulatory requests and audits
- Assist with compliance to applicable rules and other compliance requirements through research, data/evidence collection, analysis, and compliance submissions to the appropriate reliability entities
- Provide support to internal departments responsible for adherence to compliance requirements including the development and delivery of training and the dissemination of compliance guidance and industry best practices
- Lead investigative analysis for potential non-compliance and the development and submission of self-reports and mitigation plans to NERC
- Lead data gathering and development of responses for regulatory compliance requests, self-certifications, enforcement actions, data requests, and audit requests, including the submission of responses
- Lead periodic internal compliance assessments and spot-checks on applicable NERC O&P Standards
- Lead the tracking of new and revised NERC O&P Standards and conduct Compliance Impact Assessments
- Maintain knowledge of the NERC Reliability Standards and regional standards that apply to Generator Owners and Generator Operators, as well as applicable ISO requirements
- Maintain understanding of NERC compliance monitoring and enforcement processes
- Lead projects as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in NERC compliance
- Strong knowledge of regulatory process and requirements
- Experience with NERC 693 Reliability Standards and Requirements preferably within a GO or GOP
- Demonstrated leadership skills, project management and process improvement skills are needed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
- Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
- Ability to multi-task while working independently and as part of a team
- Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
