Position: Construction Materials Assistant Project Manager (Part Time)

General Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of a facilities, materials, environmental, or geotechnical engineering project to ensure it is safely completed on time and within scope and budget. Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and forecasting; troubleshoot operational problems; and coordinate with external vendors, subcontractors, and clients. Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate status to the project team and client. Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet targets and milestones.

Communicate with the client and deliver work products to their satisfaction. Coordinate with APR for engagement on critical junctures and approve invoices, change orders, and collections.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Under direct supervision, manage a small project or one phase of a large project.
  • Implement an established project plan.
  • Identify, resolve, and/or escalate operational problems and minimize delays.
  • Lead safety efforts, including preparation and compliance with the approved safety plan.
  • Analyze project requirements and perform calculations, write reports, and complete deliverables.
  • Coordinate outside contractors to ensure integrated performance and satisfactory service standards.
  • Estimate costs, resources, and time required; monitor activities; allocate resources; assign tasks; and ensure targets are met.
  • Manage all aspects of a small to medium sized project.
  • Work with client or NAM to define project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Design, communicate, and implement a project plan for project completion.
  • Lead safety efforts and compliance with the safety plan.
  • Take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
  • Identify, develop, and gather resources to complete the project, including calculations, designs, reports, schedules, budgets, forecasts, materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors.
  • Partner with other departments or offices to secure specialized resources for the project.
  • Manage all aspects of a large-scale and complex project.
  • Lead interactions with client and stakeholders to ensure their goals are considered in execution.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline practices (Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology) and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
