Entry-Level Civil Engineer EIT - Drainage, Stormwater & Utilities
Miller Gray is a locally owned, growing civil engineering firm based in Austin, and we are looking for an entry-level Civil Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent college graduate or early-career engineer who wants hands‑on experience, strong mentorship, and the chance to grow with a small firm that is deeply rooted in Central Texas.
Our work focuses primarily on public infrastructure projects for municipalities and counties across Central Texas
, with an emphasis on hydraulics and hydrology, stormwater management, drainage, flood control, and water quality
. This role will also include opportunities to support water, wastewater, and utility/pipeline design projects
, allowing you to build a broad and valuable technical foundation early in your career.

What You’ll Do- Support engineering analyses and design for stormwater, drainage, flood control, and water quality projects
- Assist with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for public infrastructure improvements
- Contribute to utility and pipeline design for water and wastewater projects
- Help prepare construction documents
, including plans, details, specifications, quantity calculations, and cost estimates - Work on a variety of municipal and public works projects across Central Texas
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers and project managers in a highly mentored environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- EIT certification (preferred) or ability to obtain it soon after hire
- 0–3 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with or coursework in hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater, or water resources
- Experience with or exposure to software such as:
- HEC-RAS
- HEC-HMS
- GIS / ArcGIS
- StormCAD or other water resources modeling tools
- Experience with Micro Station is a plus
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn
