Project Manager (PE) - Civil Infrastructure | North Austin, TX
We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer with 5-8+ years of civil engineering experience to join our growing North Austin office in a leadership capacity. This is a strategic role with a well-established, locally owned firm offering the opportunity to lead multidisciplinary projects, manage clients, and mentor junior staff in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
This is an ideal position for a motivated engineer who still enjoys hands-on design work but is ready to step fully into project and people management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage civil engineering projects from concept through construction, ensuring technical accuracy, schedule adherence, and budget performance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, internal teams, and sub-consultants.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, providing guidance on design execution and professional development.
- Coordinate and oversee planning, analysis, permitting, and design efforts for a variety of infrastructure projects.
- Maintain quality control and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Contribute to client development, proposal preparation, and project forecasting as needed.
- Water and wastewater utilities (distribution and collection systems)
- Pump stations and lift stations
- Drainage and stormwater management
- Watershed planning
- Roadway and utility coordination
- Hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling
- Dam analysis and design
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required);
Master's degree a plus - Licensed PE in Texas
- Minimum of 5-8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience
- Demonstrated experience managing civil infrastructure projects and leading small teams
- Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, Micro Station, ArcGIS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Storm
CAD, and Info Works ICM - Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Work directly with firm Principals and decision-makers
- High level of autonomy and ownership on projects
- Strong regional client base and pipeline of municipal and public infrastructure work
