Primary Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities of HDR's Transportation Engineer in the Austin office relate to roadway and highway design and include:
Use state, county, and city or other applicable standards to prepare horizontal and vertical alignment, intersection layout, interchange layout, roadway drainage, and right of way plans for transportation-related civil engineering projects.
Work with a team in the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for civil engineering projects of various sizes and complexity.

- Alignment/Right of Way Plans
- Temporary Erosion Control Plans
- Site Preparation Plans
- Roadway geometric design of horizontal and vertical alignments
- Drainage Plans and Profiles
- Utility Plans
- Paving
- Pavement Marking Plans
- Signing Plans
- Traffic Control Plans
- Quantity calculations
- Development of Engineers Opinion of Probable Construction Costs
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
6 months' experience in transportation engineering.
Experience may include professional, internship, or graduate research experience and must include experience in:
Micro Station;
AutoCAD;
InRoads; VISSIM; MATLAB; and SignCAD.
Accepting licensed and unlicensed candidates. Professional Engineering licensure is not a prerequisite for this position.
