Director of Business Development – Building the Future of Clean Energy in Texas

The Mission

Texas has always been known for its wide-open skies and powerful energy tradition. Today, that legacy is shifting — toward clean, reliable, renewable power built for the next generation.

Our client, a growing Independent Power Producer (IPP), is developing, financing, constructing, and operating large-scale solar and energy storage projects that keep the Lone Star State running — sustainably and profitably. They’re privately backed, long-term focused, and ready to scale.

This is your chance to join that mission — not just selling or sourcing projects, but helping shape how the next era of American energy gets built.

The Opportunity

As Director of Business Development, you’ll drive growth across Texas with a focus on utility-scale solar and battery storage (BESS) in the ERCOT market. You’ll build relationships from the ground up — scouting new sites, working with landowners, and collaborating across engineering, finance, and permitting teams to bring projects from concept to shovel-ready.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role on a small, entrepreneurial team that values real initiative and gives you the autonomy to make a difference. You’ll work directly with the U.S. leadership team to expand their footprint and shape the strategy of a fast-growing clean energy platform.

What You’ll Do

Originate and develop new solar and BESS opportunities across Texas.

Build and manage lasting relationships with landowners and local stakeholders.

Evaluate sites for feasibility — from interconnection and transmission access to environmental and regulatory complexity.

Drive early-stage project development, coordinating with internal engineering, finance, and permitting partners.

Assist in offtake discussions and financial modeling to ensure project viability.

Represent the company in strategic conversations with utilities, consultants, and regulators.

Every project you move forward brings more clean power online — and helps rewrite the story of Texas energy.

What You Bring

8+ years in renewable energy business development or project development.

Hands-on experience with large-scale solar and/or battery projects.

Familiarity with ERCOT’s development environment and interconnection processes.

Understanding of project finance and development workflows.

A track record of independently managing multiple high-value initiatives.

A degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Environmental Science, or related field.

You’re a builder — relational, grounded, and motivated by purpose as much as performance.

Why Join Now

Play a central role in expanding a growing U.S. clean energy platform.

Work within a well-capitalized IPP with a long-term ownership mindset.

Collaborate with a passionate, values-driven team shaping the renewable future.

Competitive compensation, benefits (medical, vision, dental, 401k), and real ownership over your work.

If you care about meaningful growth — for the grid, the planet, and your own career — this is a place to make it happen.
