Role Description

Arcadis is seeking a Texas Water/Wastewater Account Leader in our Austin, TX office. The Account Leader will lead a team, grow expertise in water/wastewater design and construction support services, and manage projects, client development, and project wins throughout the Texas market. This role sits within the Resilience global business area, focusing on protecting water resources and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead client development activities, support positioning and capture strategies, and contribute to proposals and presentations for Water/Wastewater Facility Design projects.
  • Collaborate with Area Leaders and client Account Leaders to define project scopes and fee estimates, manage risks, identify project staff, and ensure projects are set up for successful and profitable delivery.
  • Coordinate with technical advisors in water and wastewater process modeling and facility design, and contribute to strategic planning with clients for treatment plants, stormwater systems, distribution and collection systems, and pump/lift stations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, support team work, and enforce Arcadis practices, quality, and safety standards.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of projects, coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, oversee project budgets and schedules, and provide technical leadership through design and construction phases.
  • Travel up to 10% for site visits, client meetings, and business development.
Key Attributes
  • Strong technical engineering background with successful delivery of water and wastewater treatment plant design projects.
  • Proven track record in client development, pursuing proposals, and participating in interviews to secure new projects.
  • Skillful in delivering technical presentations and contributing during project pursuit interviews.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, flexible, and collaborative across local and remote teams.
  • Experience negotiating, managing, and delivering projects with fees of $1 million or more.
Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications
  • 15+ years of related industry experience in the water/wastewater field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • PE License in Texas.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 20+ years of related industry experience.
  • Master’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
