Position SummaryThe GCS Chemical Engineering team focuses on owning, maintaining, and improving specialty and bulk chemical operations at Samsung Austin Semiconductor. In the Chemical Equipment team, you will support on‑site operations and maintenance for hazardous process material (HPM). The role is full‑time on‑site.
Base salary: $70,480 - $179,090. Total compensation includes a benefits package, and may include incentive compensation.
Roles and Responsibilities Equipment Operations- Provide technical expertise and ownership for chemical systems, safety and quality standards, and improvements.
- Interact with operations, maintenance, construction teams, and equipment vendors to sustain and maintain equipment.
- Troubleshoot emergent equipment issues and provide technical direction to resolve.
- Plan and execute non‑standard maintenance to address failures or improvements.
- Coordinate with Fab Engineering groups to provide technical support, supply issue resolution, and collaboration for improved safety, quality, and system reliability.
- Commission and start up new equipment installations.
- Support and lead MOC for PSM and RMP‑covered processes.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to improve quality, productivity, and safety while reducing cost.
- Evaluate future scenario planning, budget and schedule forecasting, utilization and capacity data analysis, and reporting.
- Implement process improvement and standardization methods across equipment fleet (work processes, alarm management, 6S principles).
- Optimize preventive maintenance strategies for aging assets to minimize risk of failures.
- Improve process control and monitoring methods to sustain large equipment sets.
- BS degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related field (preferred), plus equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in gas or chemical equipment ownership; semiconductor experience is a plus.
- Strong technical skills and competency to represent the group in work coordination and execution.
