The Facility Engineer serves as the technical leader for plant equipment, utilities, and infrastructure. This role is responsible for planning, maintaining, and upgrading production machinery and facility systems to ensure safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in equipment lifecycle management, energy optimization, understanding the process of how infrastructure can obtain government approval from the early beginning to win final acceptance certificate, and the ability to support bilingual communication (English/Mandarin) for global coordination.
Responsibilities- Lead CAPEX projects such as solar installations, AGV upgrades, and facility infrastructure improvements, ensuring delivery within budget and timelines.
- Support digital transformation initiatives, including IoT monitoring systems and BIM modeling for smart facility management.
- Lead infrastructure drawing/documentations preparation & review (AHJ Review).
- Submit to government & get the building permit application.
- Lead Final Acceptance / Certificate of TCO & CO.
- Lead equipment selection, installation, commissioning (FAT/SAT), and integration for new production lines.
- Design and optimize facility layouts, including logistics flow, utilities, and pipeline routes to support capacity expansion.
- Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance plans using RCM methodologies.
- Improve equipment reliability by tracking and enhancing MTBF and MTTR performance.
- Monitor and analyze plant-wide energy consumption (electricity, water) and implement energy-saving initiatives such as compressed air leak reduction and LED lighting upgrades.
- Oversee HVAC systems, compressed air, and wastewater treatment operations in compliance with EPA standards.
- Ensure equipment and facility safety compliance, including OSHA machine-guarding standards and emergency stop systems.
- Conduct arc flash assessments and support electrical safety programs.
- Partner with production teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and reduce downtime.
- Coordinate contractor activities and inspections, including boilers, cranes, and pressure vessels.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial facilities and equipment management; automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- OSHA 30-Hour
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, CMMS systems, PLC fundamentals, and equipment diagnostics.
- Knowledge of LEED standards and ISO 50001 energy management systems.
- Strong bilingual communication skills: fluency in English required. Spanish and Chinese language capabilities preferred.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities, capable of managing multiple projects and responding quickly to emergencies.
- Participation in 24/7 on-call rotation required for critical facility events.
- Work may involve exposure to heights, electrical systems, and industrial environments; full PPE (insulated boots, hard hats) required.
- Customer-specific training (e.g., Toyota TPS) will be provided post-hire.
