Key Responsibilities- Serve as a technical liaison with clients and coordinate technical efforts within the mechanical discipline, integrating work with architects, structural, electrical, civil, and instrumentation & control teams.
- Develop mechanical design from conceptual through detailed phases, including calculations, equipment and pipe sizing, and determining conditions of service.
- Prepare and review technical specifications and detailed drawings.
- Lead and mentor 2D/3D designers and junior engineers, providing guidance on design documents and drawing preparation.
- Utilize design and equipment sizing software to produce engineering documentation.
- Assist with occasional field or site visits for data collection and documentation.
- Consult with construction personnel on constructability, field conditions, sequencing, and scheduling.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Department Manager or Project Manager.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related ABET‑accredited four‑year degree.
- 8–15 years of facility design experience, including state or federal building design, university central plants, industrial or mission‑critical facilities, or related fields.
- Possess a PE license, or ability to obtain one within one year.
- Experience designing HVAC systems, plumbing systems, central utility plants, and mechanical distribution systems.
- Proficiency with Trane Trace, Revit, Pipe‑Flo, COMcheck, and/or BLCC software.
- LEED AP BD+C credential and/or GBI Guiding Principles Compliance Professional (preferred).
- Salary range for CO, IL, or MN locations.
