Test Engineer, Electronics Technician, Systems Engineer, Quality Engineering
PGS Worldwide is seeking an Environmental Test Technician in Austin, TX for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role supports environmental testing of electronic components and subassemblies, including vibration and thermal testing, to ensure product performance and reliability. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to execute test procedures and document results.
Required Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience operating vibration systems such as Unholtz Dickie or similar equipment
- Experience supporting environmental or engineering qualification testing
- Experience with vibration profile development
- Experience using thermal cycling equipment such as Thermotron temperature chambers
- Experience setting up and operating test and measurement equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, and automated test systems
- Experience working with thermocouples, data loggers, accelerometers, and other instrumentation
- Ability to follow engineering procedures, work instructions, and verbal guidance
- Basic computer skills in a Windows environment
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with RF testing
What You'll Do
- Set up and operate vibration and thermal cycling equipment for environmental testing
- Perform moderate to complex environmental tests following established procedures
- Monitor and control test conditions including temperature, vibration, pressure, and airflow
- Collect, process, and compile test data into complete documentation packages
- Maintain detailed test logs and records of testing activities
- Support engineering and production teams with test execution and troubleshooting
- Assist higher-level technicians with more complex testing activities
