Role Description
Engineering Intern, Water Business Line – Austin or San Antonio office.
Role Accountabilities- Evaluate, plan, and design projects for water, wastewater, and stormwater treatment, conveyance, pipelines, and pumping facilities.
- Assess, develop, and support sustainability and resilience projects, conducting vulnerability and mitigation assessments for utilities, municipalities, and cities.
- Perform fieldwork: site visits, sample collection, water quality analyses, technology evaluations, and plant operations data gathering.
- Assist in troubleshooting processes and optimizing operations.
- Support asset management projects with data analytics, operational and organizational assessments, condition assessments, and performance evaluations of facilities.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and audio‑visual materials; participate in client meetings.
- Ensure project compliance with Arcadis practices and quality, health, and safety standards; facilitate coordination for timely completion.
- Collaborate independently and as part of a team, coordinating with colleagues across the U.S. and internationally.
- Learn and use digital tools such as SharePoint, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Power BI, and Augmented Reality to enhance collaboration and project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a BS in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water, wastewater, and stormwater.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Prior internship or coursework in water/wastewater, water resources, or related sectors.
- EIT certification.
