Your Role
Infineon is looking for a Product Applications Engineer to join our Internet‑of‑Things Compute & Wireless (ICW) business line in Austin, Texas.
Key responsibilities- Enabling customer design‑in of products and solutions through coordination of the support team on architectural collaboration, technical support, training and failure analysis
- Gathering customer and personal feedback on product, tool and content performance, features and usability; bringing consolidated recommendations for improvement to the organization in a constructive fashion
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with other internal functional teams (Marketing, Software, R&D) through regular rounds of experience exchange and sharing of knowledge
- Contributing to major product cross‑functional teams for both chip and solution development
- Prototyping and producing requirements definitions for new applications and solutions
- Producing and maintaining content in support of new PSOC and microcontroller products, including:
- Embedded software demonstrating product and solution capabilities
- Hardware designs including schematic, layout and component selection
- Analog and digital system‑level designs
- Technical documentation such as datasheets, technical reference manuals, application notes and knowledge base articles
- Technical training for external customers and Infineon Sales, Marketing and Applications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 2+ years of experience in embedded development
- Excellent fundamental knowledge of both analog and digital circuits
- Skilled in C programming; C++, Python and/or assembly experience a plus
- Experience on Arm CPUs
- Embedded Real‑Time Operating Systems (RTOS) experience;
FreeRTOS preferred, Zephyr desired - Experience with standard MCU peripheral and system resources:
- Clock trees, crystal oscillators, PLLs, RTCs, watch‑dogs and timers, counters, PWMs
- Communication interfaces including UART, SPI and I2C; USB, I3C, Ethernet, CAN a plus
- Analog peripherals including ADCs, DACs, opamps and comparators
- Volatile and non‑volatile memories including external memory interfaces
- Capable with power and performance optimization strategies
- Basic experience with printed circuit board design including schematic capture and layout
- Skilled with use of multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, bus analyzers and related electronic equipment for use in test and debug
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot at a system level across application code, silicon/register‑level and board/component‑level; ability to problem solve and systematically work to root cause
- Experience with one or more of the following highly beneficial:
- Security principles and cryptographic methods
- Machine Learning including model development and training
- Capacitive and/or inductive sensing technologies
- Embedded graphics systems and interfaces
- Embedded video systems and interfaces including compression/decompression
- Capable of influencing action in a cross‑functional organization and strong sense of customer service
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to independently plan, schedule and prioritize level of support based on customer needs and management guidance

CompensationIn the United States, it is required to disclose a salary range to applicants. The wage range that the company expects to pay for a qualified candidate in the United States is:
Austin, TX – Minimum of $86,000 salary per year / Maximum of $118,300 salary per year. In addition, all employees will be eligible to participate in an incentive plan.
