What to Expect

What You'll Do

• Build, calibrate, and validate microscopic and mesoscopic traffic simulation models

• Prepare traffic safety study reports, intersection and interchange operational analyses

• Perform transportation/traffic engineering planning and design including managing tasks and projects and quality control.

• Review and present the reports and outcomes with vendors, engineers, and architects, and drive multi-disciplinary coordination.

• Effectively and proactively communicate project needs, changes, and status to both internal and external team members.

• Conduct meetings and coordinate permitting agencies to obtain jurisdictional approvals of civil engineering scope.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Transportation/Traffic engineering

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in traffic engineering, transportation planning, traffic modelling and simulation, traffic operation analysis

• Experience in master planning including design of roadways, intersections, traffic signal control infrastructure, data collection and analysis

• Proficient in VISSIM, Synchro, AutoCAD Civil 3D and has thorough knowledge of MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual

• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas or capability of getting registered through reciprocity within 6 months.

• Ability to multi-task and adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and timelines, work independently with minimal oversight; prioritize and manage multiple assignments; work with a diverse team and communicate effectively, and uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashion.

• Desire to do the impossible with a positive and professional "never quit" attitude, and demonstrates a creative problem-solving approach, ability to develop alternatives and innovative design solutions.

• Excellent written and spoken English, additional languages are a plus.
