We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Technical Program Manager to join the Manufacturing Engineering, Energy Products team. In this role, you will drive program execution alongside world‑class engineers responsible for designing and manufacturing our industry‑leading energy products. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for launching new technologies. You’ll bring teams together with a shared focus on delivering innovative solutions while pushing the limits of design, manufacturing processes, and program schedules.
You’ll coordinate collaboration across Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Production teams, ensuring alignment with company priorities. By understanding each project’s opportunities, challenges, and dependencies, you’ll translate complex information into clear, concise communication that keeps every team member informed and proactively identifying and removing roadblocks to maximize team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage cross‑functional teams to ensure successful manufacturing line launches across Tesla locations, collaborating with global teams to develop advanced automation equipment.
- Create, maintain, and communicate schedules and plans for manufacturing projects, covering process development, validation, line design, equipment fabrication, FAT, SAT, SOP, and shipping.
- Coordinate build milestones with Manufacturing Engineering, Construction, Facilities, and Production teams.
- Track and report equipment readiness, project status, blockers, and changes, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Monitor project costs, drive cost management improvements, and ensure projects stay within budget.
- Provide technical leadership and project management expertise to solve key program challenges while motivating teams to complete critical tasks.
- Drive collaboration across internal and cross‑functional teams to meet deadlines and deliver results within time and resource constraints.
- 3+ years of experience in a mix of engineering and project management.
- Experience in technical program or project management, ideally with multiple delivered projects of medium to large‑sized capital equipment systems ($1M-$25M+).
- Proven experience coordinating between technical and non‑technical team members effectively, and across multiple time zones.
- Experience with project management tools (MS Project, JIRA, etc.).
- Experience leading a team in a complex construction, production, and/or manufacturing environment.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
