Radio Frequency Test Engineer II

An advanced engineering organization is developing next-generation communication systems for aerospace and high-reliability platforms, including space, airborne, and unmanned systems.

The company operates in a highly technical, cross-functional environment where hardware, software, and systems engineers collaborate to build and validate complex RF communication technologies.

We are seeking a Senior RF Test Engineer II to join a growing engineering team focused on RF system validation and test infrastructure development.

This role focuses on the design, development, and execution of RF test systems and validation strategies for advanced communication hardware.

The engineer will work closely with RF design and systems teams to define test requirements and translate them into scalable, automated, and reusable test architectures.

This position requires strong hands-on RF measurement expertise, test automation experience, and the ability to interpret complex RF system behavior.

• Design and execute RF test plans and validation procedures
• Develop scalable RF test architectures and reusable test frameworks
• Collaborate with design engineering teams to define test requirements early in development cycles
• Perform RF measurements including linearity, noise spectral density (NSD), and error vector magnitude (EVM)
• Develop automated test systems using scripting and software tools
• Operate RF lab equipment including VNAs, VSAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes
• Analyze and interpret RF test data and communicate findings to technical stakeholders
• Support design-for-test (DFT) reviews and validation strategy development
• Manage lab setups, instrumentation, and support test equipment selection decisions
• Present test results and technical findings to engineering leadership

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 4–6+ years of experience in RF test, RF systems, or validation engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with RF measurement techniques and test methodologies
• Experience building RF test systems and automated test infrastructure
• Familiarity with RF lab instrumentation (VNAs, VSAs, signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers)
• Strong understanding of RF metrology and statistical analysis for testing
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

• Experience with phased array or advanced antenna testing
• Programming or scripting experience (Python, MATLAB, C/C++)
• Understanding of RF/mixed-signal systems (amplifiers, filters, ADCs/DACs, antennas)
• Experience in high-reliability industries such as aerospace, defense, or advanced communications
