Manufacturing Engineering Technician

What To Expect

Tesla Automation is seeking Manufacturing Engineering Technicians to support the installation, alignment, commissioning, and production ramp-up of advanced manufacturing equipment. In this role, you will work within a cross‑functional team to deliver high-performance automation systems that enable world‑leading vehicle production across multiple sites.

• Lead end‑to‑end equipment setup and commissioning including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic integration, rigging, alignment, power‑on sequencing, I/O verification, functional testing, and qualification.
• Execute equipment upgrades, retrofits, and modifications in partnership with engineering and production teams to improve machine performance and reliability.
• Apply structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis using 5‑why, fishbone diagrams, and FMEA to resolve equipment and process issues and implement effective CAPA.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and design teams to align project goals, resolve issues, and ensure consistent execution across the manufacturing lifecycle.
• Enforce safety and EHS compliance by following protocols, supporting safety buy‑offs, and maintaining a hazard‑free work environment.

• 4 or more years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic technology, or equivalent experience.
• Experience installing and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Experience assembling equipment from mechanical and electrical engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
• Strong cross‑functional communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to safety protocols and EHS compliance in a manufacturing environment.
