Position Overview:
We are seeking a driven Graduate Engineer to join our civil engineering team. This role is ideal for a recent civil engineering graduate eager to apply practical knowledge to real world projects. You will gain exposure to every phase of engineering design and permitting in land development — from early entitlements and conceptual planning through design development, permitting, and construction. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, collaborative, and a natural problem solver, ideally with previous engineering internship experience and foundational knowledge of design and familiarity with permitting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with the design and production of civil engineering drawings, including site dimensional plans, site grading, utility design, and stormwater management.
- Prepare permit applications, calculations, and reports under the guidance of a licensed engineer.
- Collaborate with internal team members and project co-consultants to ensure high-quality deliverables and effective project coordination.
- Participate in project scheduling and task tracking to meet deliverable deadlines.
- Attend meetings with regulatory agencies or clients to gain exposure to the design and permitting processes.
- Support construction phase activities such as submittal reviews, field observations, and contractor coordination.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in civil engineering preferred.
- Foundational knowledge of design for civil engineering projects.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Skills:
- Familiarity with local jurisdictions such as City of Austin, Travis County, and Williamson County.
- Proficiency or familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
- Enthusiasm for problem-solving and a willingness to learn quickly.
