Semiconductor Lab Technician – Night Shift Location
Austin, TX
Pay$26 – $29 per hour
Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented Semiconductor Lab Technician to support in-lab operations and manufacturing processes on a night shift schedule. This role partners closely with engineering teams to perform destructive wafer analysis, structure evaluation, and failure analysis, while also maintaining analytical equipment. The ideal candidate will be hands‑on, safety‑focused, and experienced in working with advanced instrumentation for fault isolation and root cause analysis.
Strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards is essential.
- Perform technician duties supporting daily lab operations and manufacturing needs
- Execute destructive wafer analysis, structural inspections, and failure investigations
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify root causes and improve processes
- Utilize advanced instrumentation for fault isolation and material characterization
- Conduct equipment setup, optimization, and level‑appropriate maintenance
- Complete routine assignments and projects under detailed guidance
- Operate and optimize analytical tools and supporting software
- Troubleshoot operational and equipment‑related issues
- Maintain accountability for individual performance tied to departmental KPIs
- Adapt to changing processes, priorities, and production demands
- Perform multi-step, detail-sensitive tasks both independently and in a team environment
- Execute precise sample preparation techniques aligned with analysis requirements
- Associate degree or technical training (or equivalent coursework) preferred
- Less than 3 years of experience in semiconductor or related technical field preferred
- Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) operation
- pFIB/FIB (Focused Ion Beam) operation
- Chemical and dry etch sample delayering techniques
- Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with lab instrumentation and analysis tools
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance
- Ability to work with chemicals in a wet lab environment
- Excellent attention to detail and hand‑eye coordination
- Effective problem‑solving and analytical thinking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant internal software tools
- Competitive hourly pay: $26 – $29/hr
