Senior Hydrogeologist, Groundwater Modeler, and Project Manager

R. W. Harden & Associates, Inc. (RWH&A) is seeking a talented and motivated hydrogeologist with 5 to 10 + years’ experience for full-time employment in Austin, Texas and who has a desire to excel in a leadership role with an opportunity for advancement into partnership within RWH&A. We are seeking to grow our team by adding a qualified experienced leader in the field of hydrogeology who is proficient in groundwater modeling and project management with exceptional interpersonal skills and can foster a strong rapport with RWH&A staff, clients, field and engineering teams, and individuals at every level of the organization and has a desire to work in a small office environment.

• Project management including project oversight, client coordination, and preparation and tracking of contract documents and proposals including scope of work, estimated budgets, and projected schedules.
• Project supervision and coordination of RWH&A staff, clients, engineering teams, and well drilling and pump contractors.
• Provide support and development of groundwater conceptual and numerical models including compilation, evaluation, and analysis of data inputs and outputs using various pre- and post-user interface processors and databases.
• Research of geologic and hydrogeologic data from federal, state, county, and local records, academia, and RWH&A digital and paper files.
• Attendance and participation of regulatory, client, and staff project meetings.
• Preparation of reports and technical memorandums including associated figures, charts, and tables.
• Preparation of technical specifications and contract documents for exploration drilling and aquifer testing programs, well construction, and selection of appropriate pumping equipment.
• Preparation of project monthly progress reports and review of invoices, routine updating of project completion schedules, and coordination with clients and field engineering teams.

• MS or MA in Civil Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology, or a closely related field with an emphasis on groundwater hydrology and/or groundwater modeling.
• 5 to 10+ years of hydrogeologic investigation experience and reporting.
• Proficiency with the MODFLOW family of groundwater modeling codes.
• Proficiency with ESRI TM software and Microsoft® products.
• Experience with computer programming (such as Python, .Net, R, or other similar language) for data analyses and model development.
• Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in project management and business development.
• Experience mentoring entry-level and junior level staff.
• Expert witness testimony experience.
• Experience working with regulatory and state agencies and permitting requirements.
• Professional Geoscientist (P.G.) and/or Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure.
• Direct hydrogeologic consulting experience in Texas.

• Bachelor’s degree in geosciences, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a hydrogeologist and project manager.
• Licensed professional geoscientist and/or engineer in the state of Texas with interest in the field of hydrogeology.
