Project Development Project Manager – Bridge Division (2601352)
TxDOT’s Bridge Division is seeking an engineer to manage bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects under the Bridge Rehabilitation and Bridge Replacement Funding Program. This role involves planning, developing, and managing projects to improve bridge conditions across Texas’s extensive bridge inventory.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize project management principles to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close complex transportation projects.
- Assist in developing and monitoring project budgets.
- Interpret the Utility Accommodation Policy.
- Monitor consultant progress and work quality; review invoices, prepare supplemental agreements.
- Conduct in‑house research studies.
- Provide technical support to districts, divisions, and FHWA on bridge maintenance matters.
- Recommend bridge replacement, rehabilitation, and repair of damaged bridges.
- Review change orders, supplemental agreements, memorandum agreements, and additional work orders; review monthly and final estimates before submission.
- Perform additional job responsibilities as assigned.
- Monitor contract performance, evaluate deliverables, review billing documentation, and assess consultant compliance.
- Recommend prioritization of bridge replacement, rehabilitation, and repair projects.
- Advisory on administrative, technical, regulatory, and engineering aspects of transportation.
- Coordinate and monitor assigned projects, programs, or plans.
- Present on behalf of TxDOT and negotiate agreements with neighboring states, Mexico, and the International Boundary Water Commission.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science; a higher degree may substitute one year of experience per year.
- Six years of engineering or transportation engineering experience (full‑time or prorated). Seven years of experience may be required depending on educational level.
- Professional Engineer license from the State of Texas (TX L. Prof. Engr) and Safety Impact Certificate.
- Office‑based work with occasional travel (10 % of the time). Must be able to work onsite at Stassney HQ.
- TX Professional Engineer license.
- Safety Impact Certificate.
- Verbal communication—talking, expressing, and exchanging ideas.
- Hearing—normal spoken level perception.
- Repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions.
- Physically demanding; pre‑employment physical assessment required.
- Drug testing required for Safety Impact positions.

$76,530 – $120,000 annually (yearly).
