As a Project Engineer at Walker Partners, you will work alongside our experienced engineering and construction management teams and play a pivotal role in the design and delivery of municipal water and wastewater treatment facility projects.
Responsibilities- Lead and/or support civil engineering efforts – including planning, design, and permitting – across a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater projects.
- Work side‑by‑side with project managers, engineers, and cross‑disciplined teams to tackle complex challenges and bring our clients’ infrastructure goals to life.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop scopes of work, schedules, and budgets.
- Prepare technical reports, construction plans, and specifications.
- Mentor and lead EITs and junior engineering staff.
- Master of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (from ABET Accredited Civil Engineering Program).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
- 5‑7 years of experience in the planning and design of water/wastewater systems.
- Working knowledge of design standards and permitting requirements in Texas.
- The technical acumen to design and to lead a design team to prepare the drawings and specifications for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- A working knowledge of permitting treatment facilities in the State of Texas.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent coaching and mentoring abilities.
