We are looking to add an experienced and talented Principal Quality Engineer to our team. In this position, you use a variety of process improvement tactics, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma methodology, and Kaizen. Your job is to collect data and analyze current operating procedures to determine which continuous improvement process technique is the best for our situation.
The Principal Quality Engineer will also be responsible for the inception, maintenance and update of central directives pertaining to systematic problem solving, process quality engineering and Lean manufacturing principles within QMS. This role is multi-dimensional requiring interfacing with internal customers (Management, Engineering (SW & HW), and Manufacturing) to drive the corrective action culture and in due course transitioning into a lean process quality engineer optimizing the production system using lessons learned (LL) methodology and Lean/ Six sigma principles.
JOBDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads cross-functional process improvements to drive business resultsincludingprocess controls, system improvements, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Identifiesanddrivesroot cause corrective actionfor nonconformance and failure investigations including customer, supplier, and internal issues.
- Acts as primary point of contact for customers to address and address customer issues, requirements, and expectations including review of contracts
- Developsandmonitorsquality metrics to assess process performance and QMS effectiveness.
- Plans and manages internal audits and supports external certification, customer, and regulatory audits
- Providesleadershipand oversighttolower-level quality personnel in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and resolving quality issues.
- Champions Leanand/or Six Sigma principles, methodologies, and tools to support achievement of business objectives.
- Plans, coordinates, and leads employee development training in quality methodologies including Lean and Six Sigma.
- Works closely with process owners to drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Communicates quality management system adequacy and effectiveness to top-level management through management reviews.
- Support the development and implementation of performance metrics.
- Supports all aspects of the quality management system.
- Assist with other QA duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred. Associate degree required.
- 8+ years relevant work experience.
- Experience with continuous quality improvement activities in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with AS9100 or ISO
9001 Quality Management Systems compliance. - Demonstrated history of leading Kaizen events that eliminated waste and improved flow.

$136,000 - $167,000 a year
