Position Summary

We are seeking a senior engineer to support Tetra Tech’s rapidly growing commercial water business. The candidate must be highly motivated and work well in a professional and team‑oriented environment. The candidate must manage a heavy workload, occasionally travel to project sites or client site meetings (less than 30%), and possess strong communication and organizational skills.

Essential Job Functions

Interacting with clients to identify needs, develop a scope of work, prepare a budget, and execute projects, leading small teams.

Leading meetings with clients to review project progress.

  • Leading engineering and design teams on single and multi‑disciplined projects.

Reviewing team deliverables and performing quality control reviews.

Perform periodic quality control reviews.

Monitoring and updating project budget and schedule.

Overseeing the preparation of permit applications related to water supply projects.

Meeting with regulatory agencies.

Interfacing with vendors, equipment suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.

  • Reviewing bid packages and making recommendations to clients for the award of contracts.
  • Writing proposals and Work Orders.
  • Traveling to client locations, both project sites and offices (must be able to drive and pass a motor vehicle records check).
Required Qualifications
  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil or Environmental)
  • 10+ years of experience planning, designing and managing water projects
  • Knowledge of environmental and water laws and regulations
  • Experience with Texas Regional Water Planning or similar state planning activities
  • Experience coordinating meetings, conducting effective presentations, preparing written reports
