Responsibilities- Conduct acoustic reconstruction/analyses of Fleet exercises/operations to determine the effectiveness of active and passive sonar systems at sea using quantitative measures of effectiveness (MOEs) of operational importance to the Fleet.
- Perform active and passive sonar signal analysis supporting advanced research and development, and prepare and review analysis presentations, reports and databases.
- Present analysis results at internal and external working group meetings.
- Coordinate and conduct at‑sea experimental reconstruction activities, including acoustic signal analysis and performance improvement analyses in support of cross‑functional system engineering and development teams within the Environmental Sciences Laboratory.
- Perform other related functions as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- At least 8 years of operational experience in the employment and expert analysis of U.S. Navy sonar systems.
- Demonstrated ability to reconstruct and analyze active and passive sonar data.
- Demonstrated ability to develop acoustic collection plans and deliver briefings to Senior U.S. Navy commands.
- Work as a team member, independently, with peers, clients, and management.
- Direct sponsor and peer contact experience.
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- More than eight years of operational experience in the employment and expert analysis of U.S. Navy sonar systems.
- Experience briefing and advising Command‑level Officers and senior civilian personnel.
- Extensive experience in U.S. Navy surface ship and submarine anti‑submarine warfare (ASW) operations such as possession of U.S. Navy ASW Specialist or Sonar Supervisor qualifications.
- Extensive experience with Integrated Undersea Surveillance Systems (IUSS) sensors and operations such as possession of U.S. Navy IUSS Master Qualification.
- Qualification as U.S. Navy Master Training Specialist or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge and operational experience with current and planned U.S. Navy sonar systems and Advanced Processor Build (APB) and Advanced Capability Build (ACB) sonar systems.
- Experience with MATLAB, Python or similar programming languages.
$94,000- $108,000 +/- negotiable depending on qualifications.
