BIM / Revit Electrical Designer (Onsite – Texas)

We are seeking an experienced BIM / Revit Electrical Designer to join a growing team supporting large-scale commercial construction projects. This is a hands-on, production-focused role responsible for developing electrical BIM models, coordinating across trades, and producing detailed shop drawings.
Key Responsibilities- Develop detailed 3D electrical model
s using AutoCAD MEP, Revit, and Navisworks based on field superintendent layouts - Perform BIM coordinatio
n, including clash detection and resolution using Navisworks Manage - Participate in GC-led coordination meetings and shepherd models through final sign-off
- Produce electrical shop drawing
s and bill of material
s for procurement and labor tracking - Collaborate with operations teams, general contractors, and MEP trade partner
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams for design-build projects
- Support development and maintenance of BIM standards, templates, and workflows
- Mentor and train junior designers and detailers (senior-level candidates)
- Assist with managing BIM budgets and project deliverables

Candidates with primarily industrial plant, refinery, or oil & gas backgrounds are not a fit due to differing codes and standards
I am not looking for an architecture designer here. I need Electrical Design for commercial construction.
Required Qualifications- US Citizen or Green Card hold
er - High School Diploma or GED (degree not required, but preferred)
10–15+ years of experien
ce in CAD/BIM within commercial construction
- Strong experience with:
AutoCAD MEP Revit Navisworks (clash detection & coordination) - Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and coordination skills across project teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with the ability to meet aggressive project schedules
- Self-starter with strong teamwork skills
- Electrical construction experien
ce - Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Electrical field experience or electrical theory backgrou
nd - Experience with Bluebeam and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
