We are currently looking for exceptional SoC architects and performance modelling engineers to join our SoC Architecture team in our Austin, TX R & D Center (SARC), our Advanced Computing Lab (ACL) in San Jose, CA or San Diego, CA.

As Principal Automotive SoC Architect, you drive the definition of new automotive SoC architectures and features for next generation automotive products. This is a senior leadership role, tasked with identifying and analyzing emerging use cases and proposing new and innovative SoC architectures to efficiently support them. Solid architecture foundation, leadership, and automotive SoC design experience is desired for success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identify propose and deliver new SoC automotive architecture and architecture features for products in new and existing markets
- Working with teams throughout the company (RTL, PD, Circuit, Thermal, SW, Platform, & business groups) to identify, analyze and optimize critical complex use cases including gaming and camera applications
- Perform high-level performance modeling and analysis of hardware features, applications, benchmarks, and complex use cases. Understand and analyze the impact of system-level architectural trade-offs (including CPU, GPU, NPU, ISP, memory subsystems, and system software). Leverage a data driven approach to drive consensus around complex architectural proposals
- Delivering architecture proposals and specifications to the design team
- Communicate and articulate architecture proposals clearly and effectively across audiences ranging from hardware & software engineers to architecture community peers, and to technology and business leadership.
- Grow and develop the automotive SoC arch team to successfully deliver business objectives
- BSc, Masters or PhD in Computer Science/Engineering or comparable and 15+ years of experience
- Extensive experience delivering automotive SoC architecture with successful deployment in products including understanding the challenges involved in integrating internal/external IP and analyzing system-level performance and behavior.
- Experience with In-vehicle Infotainment (IVI), Digital Cockpit and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
- Experience with novel packaging technologies and multi-chip architectures and standards including 3
DIC, CXL, CCIX, and UCIe - Knowledge of automotive standards and protocols (e.g., AUTOSAR, NCAP), functional safety architecture & standards such as ASIL, ISO
26262 and knowledge of security architectures and standards such as ISO
21434, SAE J3601 - Good knowledge of ARM CPU architecture and ecosystem including Cortex-A, Cortex-R, and Trustzone.
- High proficiency in architecture analysis and performance modeling, ranging from simple analytical models to complex cycle accurate performance model and correlation.
Preferred candidate will possess the following:
- Experience with real-time operating systems such as Linux-RT, QNX, RTOS
- Knowledge of primary interfaces - Memory (LPDDRx), Networking (Ethernet, CAN) and Storage (Flash, SPI)
- Energetic, curiosity, and passion in SoC architecture
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good cross site and cross function execution skills
Compensation for this role will vary among specific regions due to geographic differentials in the labor market, actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparisons to other employees in the role. However, compensation in the following regions is expected to be as follows:
Colorado:
Compensation is expected to be between $214,916 and $333,119
NYC:
Compensation is expected to be between $214,916 and $333,119
Washington State:
Compensation is expected to be between $231,953 and $359,927
California:
Compensation is expected to be between $231,953 and $359,927
