Position Overview

The Geotechnical Department Manager will lead the geotechnical engineering division, overseeing technical operations, project delivery, and team development. This leadership role is responsible for driving departmental growth, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining strong client relationships across transportation, infrastructure, and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership for the geotechnical department, including business development and operational oversight.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
  • Oversee geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design for a variety of projects.
  • Review and approve technical reports, proposals, and project deliverables.
  • Maintain and expand client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on geotechnical solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and quality control procedures.
  • Monitor departmental budgets, allocation, and profitability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of geotechnical engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of TxDOT standards and geotechnical design principles.
  • Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and complex projects.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.
  • Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
