Are you motivated, energetic, and connected with clients, contractors, and subconsultants in the A/E/C industry? We are looking for a talented and ambitious Transportation Principal Engineer in our Austin, TX office. You will provide engineering and project management expertise on highway projects, including roadway studies, design, drainage, and utility systems.
What You Will Be Doing- Lead, direct, and mentor project team design staff on transportation projects.
- Assist in staffing requirements and make recommendations for hiring.
- Develop marketing strategies for transportation project opportunities.
- Adhere to company standards for quality assurance and quality control.
- Participate in project scoping, fee estimating, proposal preparation, and negotiations.
- Review projects after award to collaborate on work procedures, schedules, and budgets.
- Attend client meetings and evaluate client needs.
- Prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, and cost estimates.
- Submit documents to federal, state, and local agencies for code compliance.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; 5 years as a Project Manager on large or complex highway projects.
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Experience with TxDOT design methods, plan preparation, and standards.
- Demonstrated success in managing medium to large multi-disciplined projects.
- Working knowledge of roadway design software and virtual collaboration tools like Project Wise.
- Proven leadership, communication, mentoring, and client liaison skills.
- Established relationships with key clients.
