General Notes This is a temporary training position that may be renewed annually, for a maximum of five years, based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and continuation of funding.
Responsibilities Conducts computational and experimental research on electromagnetic properties of rocks
Develops methods for reliable interpretation of electromagnetic measurements in porous media
Publishes research papers
Interacts with multidisciplinary team members
Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications Ph.D. in physics, engineering, geophysics, or any geoscience related major received by the time joining UT Austin as postdoctoral researcher. PhD must have been earned within the past three years. Knowledgeable in numerical methods and proficient in at least one computer programming language. Knowledgeable in electrical properties of heterogeneous materials. Experience in experimental work. At least three peer-reviewed publications either published or under review.
Demonstrate good communication skills and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications Three years of experience in conducting experimental research in electromagnetic properties of rocks.
Salary Range $53,460 + depending on qualifications
