Job Overview

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Structural Engineer to join its design team in Herndon, Virginia. AWS designs, builds, and operates data centers around the world and is a leader in cloud‑computing infrastructure. The Structural Engineer will be part of the design team responsible for creating resilient, cost‑effective data center facilities that achieve world‑class uptime and meet growing demand.

• Design resilient, cost‑effective data center structures.
• Provide technical guidance to team members.
• Review milestone drawings by consultants.
• Solve large‑scale implementation issues.
• Ensure compliance with structural design requirements for data center facilities.

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission‑critical facilities (e.g., data centers, power generation, or oil and gas).
• 4+ years of commissioning experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Structural Engineering.
• US Citizenship required.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
