Facilities Controls Engineer

Job Description

Insight Global is hiring a Facilities Controls Engineer responsible for designing and analyzing control systems supporting central plant mechanical systems, including HVAC, chilled water, compressors, waste treatment, and pumping systems. This role involves verifying, implementing, and troubleshooting control system programming, as well as developing detailed designs, specifications, and project estimates.

The engineer will support manufacturing, EHS, and central plant operations while leading control system start-up, optimization, and shutdown activities. Responsibilities also include developing instrument and control diagrams, performing PLC programming, and designing facility monitoring control system interfaces. In addition, this individual will play a key role in identifying and resolving control‑related issues by delivering innovative and effective solutions to complex troubleshooting challenges.

• Bachelor of Science in Controls, Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution with 5 years (minimum) of direct experience
• Experience with Foxboro I/A system or DeltaV
• Ability to function effectively with peers inside and outside the organization
• Root cause problem solving skills
• AutoCAD experience
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills with knowledge or capacity to learn Visual Basic.
• Experience interpreting technical drawings/documents and performing technical analysis or drafting using computer‑aided design software
