Overview

A leading employee-owned civil engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Roadway to join its growing Texas transportation team. This is a strategic leadership role focused on delivering complex, high-profile roadway and transportation infrastructure projects across public-sector clients.

This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of major DOT and municipal programs, lead multi-disciplinary teams, and play a key role in client development and business growth across the region.

The successful candidate will be a technically strong, commercially aware leader with a proven track record in delivering large-scale transportation projects and managing client relationships at a senior level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead delivery of multiple complex roadway and transportation projects simultaneously
  • Act as primary client interface for key DOT and municipal accounts
  • Oversee project scope, budget, schedule, and quality control across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership within the roadway group
  • Mentor and develop Project Managers and emerging leaders
  • Drive business development activity including proposals, pursuits, and client presentations
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning and workload forecasting
  • Monitor project financial performance and ensure profitability targets are achieved
  • Ensure compliance with AASHTO, DOT, and applicable engineering standards
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Contribute to performance reviews and broader team development initiatives
  • Undertake additional duties as required
Candidate Profile / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 12 years+ of progressive experience in roadway and transportation engineering
  • Demonstrated success managing large DOT or municipal infrastructure projects
  • Strong leadership experience across multi-disciplinary, multi-office teams
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships at senior/stakeholder level
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in project financial management
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
  • Proficient in project management tools and Microsoft Office suite
