Stanley Consultants seeks a manager to oversee the Traffic and ITS Engineering department. The role includes directing and supervising professional and technical staff, coordinating project priorities, staffing, budgets, and client engagement to deliver high‑quality design solutions.
Responsibilities- Manage all line organization functions, including personnel administration, project quality assurance, and support for business development.
- Lead traffic engineering and ITS strategic growth initiatives, assist with project pursuits, and build client relationships.
- Support Client Success Managers with outreach and maintain key client relationships.
- Recommend and execute department plans, programs, budgets, and capital expenditures.
- Lead and develop Project Managers and department members toward objectives and career growth.
- Handle hiring decisions, salary reviews, promotions, and terminations.
- Prepare scopes and fees for new projects and serve as Project Manager on key initiatives.
- Ensure timely resource planning, workload balance, and report department status and performance.
- Recommend policies, standards, and operating procedures.
- Perform all phases of traffic and ITS engineering, including proposals, studies, architecture, modeling, design, and project management.
- Deliver engineering services for private, state, federal, and international clients.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience.
- At least 3 years of managerial experience.
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within a few months.
- Experience in traffic engineering planning and design, and/or ITS planning and design.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- PTOE or RSP certification.
- Experience in ITS planning and design.
- Experience in safety planning.
