Join our Downstream Chemical Team
Our Downstream Chemical Team uses technology comprising chemistry, expertise, intellectual property, and monitoring to improve water and process treatment applications at refinery and industrial plants, delivering value to our clients. We build customer relationships to identify future requirements that drive revenue growth, lead collaborative efforts to solve complex technical problems, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to operations teams to ensure safe, compliant service and support for our customers.
Responsibilities- Lead water technical support for existing and new accounts within North America, ensuring flawless execution through pre‑planning, job execution, and post‑job analysis.
- Collaborate with Service Delivery, Sales, and Technology teams to design technical job programs, including risk‑mitigation plans to meet customer objectives and maximize revenue.
- Provide on‑demand support for cooling, boiler, and wastewater applications in refineries, including technical recommendations for new chemical applications.
- Build trusting relationships and interface with key customers at corporate and field facilities.
- Identify and collaborate with the field team to drive projects, technical and innovative solutions that add value for customers.
- Participate in and provide technical leadership in industry forums.
- Perform annual technical audits and health checks on all assigned accounts.
- Support Operations, Technology, and Manufacturing for process technology portfolio deployment, including rollout and application of new technologies in the field.
- Deliver technical presentations to customers and field personnel.
- Perform job analysis to understand application hazards and incident potential.
- Investigate field incidents related to products/services and support end‑to‑end incident investigations when required.
- Take on special projects, including product‑line specific responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Chemical Engineering preferred).
- Minimum of 10+ years of downstream refining experience, or 5+ years of industrial water process/plants experience.
- Strong understanding of cooling water, boiler, digital technologies, and wastewater treatment plants, with 5+ years of field/operations/application support experience.
- Can work independently or within a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely in written and oral formats.
- Availability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Ability to develop and provide technical mentorship to others.
- Availability on call outside of normal business hours.
- Leadership, planning, coordination, and project delivery skills.
