CTX Stormwater Business Class Lead

Responsibilities

Lead HDR’s Stormwater Business Class by providing in‑house leadership and guidance in stormwater services, delivering client projects, and growing the external visibility of HDR’s Stormwater Program. The role supports the overall vision and strategy of multiple offices and serves as a liaison and coordinator across staff and offices to deliver projects and proposals with innovation, applicable standards, and relevant resumes.

• Work closely with project engineers to prepare planning and design level projects, including drainage reports, contract/bid documents, and collaborate with other disciplines to provide integrated solutions.
• Manage projects and provide production support while identifying and executing business development opportunities with teams of staff across municipal and utility operated stormwater programs throughout Texas.
• Participate in capturing planning processes and driving business development opportunities.
• Assist local offices with recruiting and foster relationships with local stormwater clients and professionals.
• Identify stormwater professional organizations and conferences for staff participation, organize and disseminate industry best practices, and drive national stormwater initiatives.
• Lead comprehensive stormwater management and master planning.
• Understand state stormwater regulations and manuals, and apply asset management tools.
• Lead Planning, Design, and Construction phase services:

• Surface Water H&H Modeling and Mapping
• Nature based solutions and Green Infrastructure/Low Impact Development
• Stream rehabilitation and restoration
• Stormwater collection and conveyance
• Erosion mitigation
• Flood protection and mitigation
• Stormwater quality treatment
• Best management practices (BMPs) for water quality treatment
• Low Impact Development (LID)
• Leading watershed planning
• Applying hydrologic and stormwater/drainage modeling

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydraulics, Water Resources, or a related field from an accredited four‑year college or university.
• Minimum of ten years of related work experience, including conceptual, preliminary, and final design of drainage and stormwater projects.
• Professional Engineering registration and related technical experience.
• Experience with hydrology, hydraulic/drainage design, and stormwater facility design software.
• Function as a leader and an active team player in a diverse multidisciplinary environment.
• Experience liaising with and coordinating staff at all levels.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Organized and mission‑driven.
• Experience with GSI/LID.
• Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.

• Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• Ten years of experience.
• Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values.
• Professional or engineering registration with related technical experience.
• Experience in development and management of diverse teams.
• Cooperates with other business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.
• Active participant of HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
