Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Water Engineer to join our Resilience Water Team in Austin, Texas.
Responsibilities- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater projects, including conveyance systems, pump/lift stations, stormwater systems, and treatment plants.
- Manage projects and clients through the planning, design, construction, and commissioning phases, ensuring successful project execution.
- Create preliminary engineering reports, contract documents, drawings, and specifications for construction and oversee construction activities for new builds and rehabilitation projects.
- Prepare comprehensive design packages and coordinate project execution across multiple disciplines to ensure seamless collaboration and effective outcomes.
- Develop and manage cost estimates and project schedules to keep designs within budget and on time.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff, fostering professional growth and enhancing team capabilities.
- Conduct condition assessments of water, wastewater, and storm system assets using advanced approaches and technologies.
- Establish and grow client relationships, understanding their needs, delivering tailored solutions, and overseeing proposal preparation and presentations.
- Ensure compliance with Arcadis practices, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Travel as needed for client meetings, project site visits, and related activities.
The ideal candidate possesses excellent technical engineering and project management skills within the water and wastewater practice area, strong client relationship capabilities, and a proven track record of successfully managing and delivering engineering projects to meet client expectations.
Required Qualifications- Minimum of 8 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas (or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe).
- Master’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
- 10 or more years of relevant experience.
- TCEQ Water and/or Wastewater Operator License.
- Experience serving as the engineer of record for water transmission/distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and pump station designs in the Texas region.
- Established client relationships within the Austin/Texas market and a demonstrated history of securing and delivering water and wastewater projects.
- Expertise in alternative delivery projects.
- Active engagement in regional or national professional associations.

Salary range is $94,944 – $161,405 (actual salaries will vary based on factors such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, and location).
