H&H Drainage Civil Engineer

A locally owned civil engineering consulting firm in Austin is seeking a Drainage / Stormwater H&H Engineer to support a strong pipeline of transportation and public infrastructure projects across Central Texas.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly collaborative team working on major public infrastructure programs, including transportation corridors, light rail initiatives, stormwater systems, flood control, and water quality projects. • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling and analysis for transportation and public infrastructure projects
• Support drainage design including storm drain systems, ditches, culverts, detention facilities, and water quality controls
• Conduct stormwater modeling and hydraulic calculations using industry-standard software
• Prepare drainage reports, technical documentation, construction cost estimates, and PS&E deliverables
• Coordinate with roadway, transportation, and multidisciplinary project teams
• Support drainage impact analysis, watershed delineation, and floodplain evaluations
• Communicate with project managers, engineers, and public agency clients as needed
• Depending on experience, support junior staff development and assist with task or project coordination

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• PE license in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
• Approximately 4–10+ years of experience in H&H and drainage engineering
• Strong background in transportation drainage or public infrastructure projects preferred
• Experience independently performing H&H modeling and drainage design work
• Proficiency with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS required or strongly preferred
• Experience with tools such as XP-SWMM, PCSWMM, Info Works ICM, StormCAD, Civil Storm, or similar
• Familiarity with Civil 3D, Micro Station/ORD, and GIS platforms (ArcGIS preferred)
• Experience preparing drainage reports and PS&E deliverables in accordance with agency standards
