Mechanical Engineer

Description

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to help with the sustainment of the machines. You will be in a hands-on development and technical design role impacting the creation and support of well-designed, maintainable mechanical systems. RESPONSIBILITIES - Create design solutions with excellent engineering and documentation processes.

- Design and create prototypes using in-house and external fabrication.

- Perform engineering calculations to support design work.

- Contribute to the development of systems through to handoff for product commercialization.

- Drive engineering excellence and the adherence to the scientific method.

- Compile and analyze operational, test, and research data to establish technical specifications for designing or modifying products, processes, and materials.

- Must be willing to perform a wide range of tasks on a daily basis (e.g. Transition from office work to field work at a moment's notice).

Skills & Qualifications

- Previous automation industry experience.

- Previous start-up experience, and/or a resourceful innovative nature with an ability to streamline or develop efficient processes.

- Professional experience with thermal and mechanical FEA, and topological optimization. Ansys or Solidworks simulation.

- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, and the ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.

- Industrial safety system experience.

- A hunger for learning and personal growth.

This is a Contract position based out of Austin, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
