We have an exciting opportunity to join our Material and Process (M&P) team supporting products in McKinney, Texas. The engineer will conduct material tests and analyses, production hardware testing, special engineering assignments, emerging program technical support, and new product integration activities. The role will collaborate with manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, supply chain, operations, and program authority to resolve technical design and producibility issues.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluation and identification of materials and processes based on program specifications, design and performance requirements.
- Act as part of the integrated design team to select and approve materials usage and substrate finishes for new and emerging programs.
- Join the rapid response team to address factory manufacturing process interruptions.
- Lead supplier material troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Lead or collaborate in analyses and documentation of technical positions for alternate materials, obsolescence, and failure analyses.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with mechanical assembly and technical datasheets.
- U.S. citizenship required for access to program information.
- Experience leading technical teams or serving as a technical lead in a rapid manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of material characteristics, applications, selection, and design.
- Masters or Ph.D. degree in STEM.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Experience with Design of Experiment (DOE) troubleshooting.
- Proficient in presenting technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Superior multi‑discipline collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills with data‑driven approaches.
- Experience with material testing in an analytical laboratory environment.
- Highly developed interpersonal, leadership, teaming, and problem‑solving skills.
- Significant interaction with internal and external customers expected.
- Strong communication skills and assertiveness.
- Skilled at planning, prioritizing, and executing projects/programs to successful completion.
Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD.
