Here’s The Role
LCRA is hiring a proven leader to direct and oversee our Transmission System Analysis team. You will lead all aspects of ensuring the detailed planning and analysis of LCRA’s transmission system. This leadership role is essential in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our transmission system. You will coordinate a team of professionals, providing strategic direction and technical expertise to support both near‑term and long‑term transmission system planning initiatives.
HowYou’ll Contribute
- Provide leadership and direction to staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Develop and coordinate policies, processes, and guidelines for planning the LCRA Transmission Services Corp. (TSC) transmission system.
- Ensure adherence to NERC and ERCOT transmission system planning reliability requirements.
- Proactively identify transmission solutions and anticipate transmission system constraints.
- Lead the development of transmission capacity project recommendations and sponsor critical transmission system improvements.
- Coordinate the creation of transmission system models for compliance and performing system studies.
- Promote LCRA TSC’s transmission project submissions to ERCOT and act as a representative in regulatory proceedings.
- Twelve years of experience in engineering, transmission planning, power systems analysis or other relevant experience, including at least five years of leadership responsibility.
- A degree(s) in math, computer science, engineering, or related field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Driver’s license.
- Proven leadership experience in developing and managing outstanding technical teams.
- Experience with advanced and innovative transmission steady state and stability study practices.
- Proven track record of successfully recommended transmission projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of NERC and ERCOT standards and requirements.
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to represent LCRA TSC in public and regulatory forums.
